The waterproof fabric seals out stormy elements yet also stretches and breathes freely on the uphill. Pit zips slide easily open, a drop hood shelters when snow falls from the sky and a sleeve pocket stows trinkets or totems. Internal bio mapping places fleece against the back for warmth when leaning against cold objects or resting in snow.
