A two-phase solution for stop-and-go tours, this insulated soft shell blends stretch-woven repellency with lofted warmth. At the shell, schoeller® dynamic™ sheds stormy weather with a microporous coating and breathes freely in the uptrack, while Primaloft® One retains heat when waiting for a slow ski partner and stretch panels allow forgiving flex when taking turns breaking trail. The fixed hood on the men's Spacewalk Jacket flips up quickly for sedentary warmth, while two-way pit zips vent excess heat when charging up that last pitch for the third time. Gusseted, tabbed cuffs and a spray skirt seal out snow when reaping rewards in a secret bowl.
Design
Cold Wyoming winters drove us to create an insulated softshell that could take the edge off bitter ski days. To create our ideal piece we focused on finding a method of adding synthetic loft to a stretch-woven textile. Working closely with Primaloft, we flipped the quilting to the inside and added intricate internal stretch panes. The final finished Spacewalk blends the functional benefits of both synthetic loft and active stretch.
