Angling

Alex Boehm
Alex’s passion for the sport began after moving from Tennessee to Wyoming in 1989. A master’s degree in rangeland ecology brought him into the ranching world and allowed access to the exclusive spring creeks that wind through the high mountain pastures. Alex has pitched hay and guided on the 4 Lazy F, Red Rock, and Hansen/Mead Ranches. He has also guided for Bressler Outfitters and was an integral part in the formation of Out Cast Anglers, the predecessor of World Cast Outfitters. While the pursuit of trout runs strong with Alex, the allure of saltwater angling draws him to Key West during the winter months where he pursues all species on the fly. His experience has not gone unnoticed as he is currently in his third year as Jack Nicklaus’ private guide. He and Jack fish the Keys, Bahamas, Argentina, South Africa, Iceland, Wyoming, and certain other spots that we can only dream about.
Carter Andrews
Carter Andrews has been fishing his entire life and has been in the fishing industry for over 15 years. He has guided for numerous operations, including Jack Dennis Sports, Southern Cross Club, South Fork Skiff, Cut House, Lodge at Palisades Creek, and is most recently a lodge owner on Crooked Island in the southern Bahamas. Carter has logged many first-place and top finishes in tournaments including the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, Redbone Series, and the Jackson Hole One Fly. Carter has also been featured in many fishing publications for articles and photos on a broad range of topics.
Curt Hamby
After spending one too many days behind a desk at Pearl Izumi alongside Cloudveil founder Brian Cousins, Curt decided to turn his passions into his profession. He started as a whitewater guide in Colorado, and with a firm grasp of rowing and reading water began working as a fly fishing guide – eventually heading north to guide the famous rivers in and around Jackson Hole. He’s been a guide with Westbank Anglers for seven years and has spent the last five winters detonating unstable slopes at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as a ski patroller. Curt hooked up with Cloudveil several seasons ago working with the grassroots fly fishing program developing and testing product. Luckily he found a gal who will tolerate his passions. He and his wife Shannon are the proud parents of daughter Cadence, born in December.
Dave McCoy
Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, I can't exactly recall when I was first exposed to fly fishing...too young to remember. My father, both grandfathers and family friends are to be jointly accused! Growing up in the Eugene area and spending summers in Seattle, my stomping grounds were Crane Prairie, Davis Lake, the Deschutes River and Umpqua rivers. I quickly discovered the thrill of having a fish on, especially large ones. The passion has catapulted me from the best steelhead fishing in Oregon to the best trout fishing in Colorado. For the past 10 years, I have enjoyed guiding beginners to experts throughout central and southwestern Colorado and all over the state of Washington. Now, my vision is to bring to Seattle and the Pacific NW a guide service that will set a new standard for other guide services in the industry. Dave now owns and operates Emerald Water Anglers in Seattle, WA.
Landon Mayer
Landon was born and raised in the Colorado Springs, CO area, and calls the South Platte River his home waters. He has been guiding on these waters for the past nine years, as well as one year in Alaska. What drives Landon is his passion and love for the sport of fly fishing and his unique ability to teach and demonstrate his techniques and on-river knowledge to fellow anglers. He contributes his success in catching trophy trout to an addiction of the challenge of catching these monsters on small flies and lightweight equipment. Landon is a contributing writer for High Country Angler Magazine and has had several articles published in major publications such as Fly Fisherman and American Angler. He is the author of “How to Catch the Biggest Trout of your Life” which will be released in October of 2006 by Wild River Press.
Michael Jones

Michael owns driftboating.com, and has been a member of the Clackacraft drift boat Pro-staff for 8 years. He also instructs seminars on rowing and fishing from drift boats. Michael is the reigning New England Fly Casting Champion and member of the FFF, and loves to teach specialty presentation and distance casting in a fun and informative way. Michael hosts all of the "Wildwater" segments for Egan Entertainment Networks summer television series "Wild World of Summer" broadcast throughout the North East. He is also a contributing writer for "No Umbrella" magazine.
